Girl Scouting is an international organization dedicated solely to girls. In partnership with comitted adults, girls build character and skills for success in the real world. In Girl Scouts, girls discover fun, friendship and the power of girls together.
Girl Scouting gives girls the feeling of belonging, provides opportunities to be helpful and be team players, encourages them to be respectful of others and offers them the chance to learn how to make good decisions and be leaders. Since we are Muslims, our troop incorporates our Islamic way of life into our Girl Scout program. We open all of our meetings with Surah Al-Fatiha, and end with Surah Al-Asr.
Girl Scouts can earn religious badges through the Religious Recognition Program . They can also earn The Ramadhan Patch and the Ramadhan Iftar Patch . ADAMS Girl Scouts celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr and Eid-ul Adha with their Troops. We also participate in local Girl Souting programs like Thinking Day, the Herndon Homecoming Parade, and Ceremonies of Honor.
All of our Girl Scout Leaders are volunteers, are all trained by the Girl Scout Council, and represent our Islamic culture. We are always looking for moms and dads who can volunteer with our program as: Troop Leaders, Assistant Leaders, Camping Volunteers, First Aiders, Money Managers, Cookie Sales, Snack Coordinator, Phone Tree, Meeting Assistant, Field Trip Chaperone, Calendar Sales, and Magazine Sales Coordinators.
If your daughter is between the ages of 6-16 and is interested to joing Girl Scouts, contact our Troop Coordinator, Sr. Razia Sohail.
