Health and Safety

Having fun safely is a priority in Scouting.  The Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America emphasize safety.  All leaders must undergo training in several areas to include:

Youth Protection Training

Hazardous Weather Training

Additional Training includes:

CPR

First Aid

Safe Swim Defense

Safety Afloat

There is much more than this.  The Boy Scouts of America publishes the Guide to Safe Scouting to help ensure the health and safety of our youth.

We also want to highlight additional areas of concern:

Lyme Disease

This is a very real and common infectious disease spread through the Deer Tick.  Since Scouting often goes outdoors, this is an area of special concern.
